Beware of Red Carpet Syndrome

Twas the weekend of the Oscar’s, when all through the streets

Not a creature was stirring, for they were all waiting to see

De La Renta, Couture, Versace, Tom Ford

Which celebrity would take home the best dressed on the red carpet Award.

Good afternoon darlings,

It is upon us! No, not this cruel and extended version of winter. I am referring to Oscar season! Where fashion meets film.Of course this night is for great movies, scores, directors, etc. But, I am more excited to see who owns the Red Carpet this year, especially with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in the rearview.

Who will make the same style faux-pas that they made at this year’s Grammy Awards, and who will standout and go down in the history books for future generations? I am anxious to see Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon, Terrance Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, and Lupita Nyong’o, especially since she rocked the carpet last year. In case you missed it, Lupita shut the red carpet down, with a pastel blue Prada gown. Totally unexpected, yet fully appreciated.

Don’t quite understand the hype? Simply put, if you’re really into fashion I’m sure you’ll understand my theory or have one quite similar. What celebrities wear on the red carpet not only showcases the artist that is the designer, but it gives girls like me (who dream to one day walk the Red carpet), a guideline to follow. No one wants to be the target of media criticism. Everyone loves being recognized for, “making the right choice”, whether it is because of the designer, color, size, or length of the outfit they’ve selected. Plus, it’s kind of fun to see a dress worn by Jennifer Lopez and think, ” wow, I definitely would’ve worn that dress.”

Be careful not to get addicted to the red carpet frenzy but definitely check out the styles, browse a bit.

Until next time, enjoy!
